The PVTA was in need of a new, modern transit facility.
Project Description
The PVTA's existing bus facility was over 100 years old, lacking space and function for today's needs. Working together with Fontaine Bros, Inc., we built the new 278,000 square foot facility, for bus maintenance and operations. Included in the facility is 27,000 square feet of office space for operations and management staff. Articulated buses are stored and maintained along with the standard fixed route fleet, and a charging station is included for new electric buses.
The new facility improves operating/maintenance efficiency, increases bus storage capacity, incorporates sustainable solutions to improve the enviromnet, reduces energy costs, is ADA accessible and code compliant, and provides an overall safer environment for drivers, maintenance and operations employees.
