Westover ARB Fuel Hydrant
A complete electrical installation for a new fuel hydrant system on the Westover Airbase.
M.L. Schmitt was contracted on this high-security government project to complete the electrical installation for a new fuel hydrant system that keeps sophisticated U.S. aircrafts supplied with the fuel they need to protect the area and the country.
From constructing a new jet fuel pumping facility, to wiring the tank control circuits, to installing the state-of-the-art grounding/bonding systems that ensures static is properly discharged, thus eliminating any possibility of a catastrophic spark, this project required the use of explosion-proof fittings and strict attention to detail. And since this project was on the flight line, our crew needed to keep public safety in mind at all times and work closely with all base personnel to ensure our presence was not disruptive to their normal course of operations.
